I'm Amanda Blassl, a double board-certified nurse practitioner (FNP-C, PMHNP-C), and Windrise Psychiatry is the practice I built to do psychiatric care the way I always wished it worked: unhurried, whole-person, and genuinely collaborative.

About Amanda Blassl, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-C
Before I specialized in psychiatry, I spent over a decade in nursing and family medicine, including years in urgent care and a specialty rotation in psychiatric emergency care, where I worked with patients navigating psychosis, mood crises, and some of the hardest moments of their lives. That experience shaped how I practice now. I've seen what it looks like when someone finally gets care that takes the time to understand them, and I've seen what it costs them when they don't.
Â
I focus my practice on anxiety, trauma and PTSD, OCD, depression, burnout, and the specific pressures that come with being a first responder or a lifelong perfectionist. A lot of my patients are high-functioning on the outside and quietly exhausted underneath. I also have a particular interest in supporting women working through trauma histories. Wherever you're starting from, my approach begins with getting to know you as a whole person, not a diagnosis or a symptom checklist.
Â
Every new patient gets a full hour-long evaluation, not a rushed intake. We'll talk through your history, your goals, and what's actually been happening, and build a plan together, whether that includes medication, coping strategies, therapy techniques like CBT, or some combination. I'll be direct with you about what I'm thinking and why, especially around medication decisions, because I think clear communication is part of good care, not separate from it.
Â
Outside of practice, I teach nursing students, which keeps me close to the research and honest about explaining things in plain language instead of jargon. When not in practice, I’m with my husband, our daughters, and two cats (Ivy and Winter), and enjoy hiking, traveling, or have my nose in a book.
